Annual Park Events

The Historical Park hosts to a variety of Events

The Annual General Meeting of the Rimbey Historical Society is held annually on the third Tuesday evening of February at the International Truck Museum. This is a great time to share any thoughts and ideas of how the Historical Museum could best serve our community. The AGM is also Volunteer Appreciation Night and is the Rimbey Historical Society Board's why for saying thank you. Without volunteers, this Museum and Park could not function as well as it does. The night is an opportunity to join for dinner and socializing while regaling in all that has been accomplished throughout the year.  Thank you to all who participarted in this evening. Welcome to the new Rimbey Historical Society Board of directors.

Old Timer’s Reunion Pancake Breakfast is held annually in the Centennial Pavilion at the Park. The Historical Society volunteers cook up a great breakfast as one of the first of several yearly fundraiser's for the Museum. This pancake breakfast is a great wrap up to a weekend of activities to celebrate June Home Coming.

The Rodeo Parade is a great way to kick off a fun filled weekend. Historical Society volunteers proudly drive down Main Street with some of the Museums best antiques in motion. Over the years trucks from the collection have been driven in many small town and even city parades, promoting the great community of Rimbey.

Santa Night & the Festival of Lights was first held at the Park in 2010, in partnership with the Town of Rimbey, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Historical Society. This free evening is a great   opportunity for the community to celebrate the season with lights, music and song. Santa and Mrs. Claus are on hand for pictures, the Grinch gets up to a few tricks, carolers sing by bonfire, hotdogs, hot/chocolate are all provided. The Santa Night committee is made up of volunteers from all sectors. This committee plans the event and coordinates with town businesses and volunteer groups to provide the various lighting displays throughout the Historical Village buildings and grounds. These lights are on each evening until 9:00pm, for the month of December.
